GAIA EPICHEIREIN S.A.
GAIA EPICHEIREIN was founded in 2014 as a result of a wider alliance between agricultural cooperatives that collaborated with strategic partners from the IT and banking sectors in order to serve a common vision for a more sustainable and competitive Greek agriculture.
GAIA EPICHEIREIN develops significant activity and provides services that cover a wide range of needs of the primary and agri-food sector operators of the country. A key parameter for their development is the systematic monitoring and coordination with European and international developments that affect the national primary and agri-food sector as well as Greek producers.
Emphasis is given on the course of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which constitutes the basic framework of reference and support for all representatives of the primary and agri-food sector of the EU as well as for national administrations.
LABORATORY OF AGRICULTURAL PHARMACOLOGY A.U.A.
The Agricultural Pharmacology Laboratory of the Agricultural University of Athens was founded in 1989. It is active in education and conducting research in agricultural pharmacology and chemical plant protection, such as the chemical control of plant pests and the mechanisms of action of plant protection products (PPP), the development of methods determination of PPP residues and mycotoxins in food.
INSTITUTE OF BIOSCIENCES AND APPLICATIONS – “DEMOKRITOS” NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER FOR NATURAL SCIENCES
The National Research Center for Natural Sciences (NRCNS) “Demokritos” was founded in 1961 as the Center for Nuclear Research “DEMOKRITOS”.
“DEMOKRITOS” has an important role as an interdisciplinary research center at the European and international level. The Institute of Biosciences and Applications (IBA) has as its mission the conduct of high-level basic and applied research in the life sciences and the exploitation of research results.
The Laboratory of Structural Studies of Biomolecules & Drugs with NMR of the Institute has intense research activity in the synthesis, structural analysis and biological evaluation of compounds, in quality control analyses, in the study of the metabolic profile of oils and plants and participates in international and national competitive programs concerning agro-food sector.
AGRICULTURAL OIL PRODUCING COOPERATIVE CERTIFIED AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS OF GARGALIANI – “ELEONAS”
AGRICULTURAL OIL PRODUCING COOPERATIVE CERTIFIED AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS OF GARGALIANI – “ELEONAS” was founded on January 27th, 2004. Since 2015 it has been producing olive oil with the label “POP KALAMATA” and since 2017 it has been certified for its marketing.
The potential of the Cooperative is 500 – 1,000 tons of certified extra virgin olive oil with integrated management. “ELEONAS” exports to Germany, Austria, France, Italy and is gradually replacing bulk sales with exports of standardized branded olive oil.
The Cooperative innovates and stores olive oil according to the harvest season and region.
NILEAS – AGRICULTURAL OIL PRODUCING COOPERATIVE
In 2002, Non-Profit Organization “Nileas” was founded in Messinia.
Its purpose was the implementation of an Integrated Management System on the plots of land of its members. In 2004, members of Non-Profit Organization founded the Agricultural Cooperative of the same name with the aim of marketing and promoting the members’ olive oil as standardized olive oil of high environmental quality and high-quality standards. In 2009, the “EMAS Environmental Statement” of NILEAS was approved, the first in Europe in the field of olive cultivation. The Cooperative exports to countries such as Austria, Canada, Germany.
