Objective of the Measure
The development of partnerships with the aim of connecting research with production through the pilot implementation of projects as well as the creation of Operational Groups, with the aim of strengthening the sustainability and productivity of agriculture or the protection of the environment and adaptation to climate change are one of the priorities of the European Commission for the current and the next Programming Period.
Inspiration for Sub-Measures 16.1-16.2 and 16.1-16.5 of Measure 16 “Cooperation” are partnerships that have already been developed in other member states of the European Union. All these examples show that the ideas that farmers have about the use of their production or the problems they face on their farm, if they cooperate with research, scientific or other bodies, can result in a reduction in production costs, an increase in added value and ultimately an increase in their income.
Beneficiaries are cooperation schemes of entities (at least one active in the fields of agriculture and/or animal husbandry) at a local or inter-local or transnational level, to achieve practical solutions to a specific problem or to utilize a technological or non-technological, organizational or social innovative solution in agriculture, animal husbandry and food sectors (when these are a product of Annex I of the Treaty).
